Is it possible to get a name change?

I hate to ask you guys this, because I'm sure you get it all the time. So here's my story....

Over 3 years ago, I signed up for the forums as blurredvision. At the time, I worked with some buddies, and was a little immature, and we took to copying and pasting single words till there were thousands of them, then posting. We weren't really trying to mess up the forums or anything, we just thought it was funny. Well, needless to say, we got banned 🙁. I reregistered with a new name (I'm suprised you guys didn't ban this one), and have been semi-good ever since.

Well, blurredvision is the name I always use in every online venture, and thought hopefully, after 3 years, you would consider giving me my old name back. If not, that's totally understandable, I brought it upon myself anyhow. And hopefully you don't take my confession and ban this name. I hope you don't hold grudges.

Anywho, I'd like my name changed to blurredvision. No spaces, all one name. If not, just ignore me or lock this thread 😉. I suppose you guys know what to do. Keep up the good work with the forums.

Sounds like something you would get a vacation for, not a ban. Unless there is more to the story.

More than a few people have been banned and came back and contributed positively to the forums. I can vouch that you are quite the quality member when you post, and I don't believe the mods would have a problem with you being here. I don't know if they can change your name back but I don't see a reason as to why not.

Nothing more to the story. And I don't think the other guys still post here, I haven't talked to any of them since quitting that job over 2 years ago.

Why wouldn't they though? They did with Brooks/Skoorb, they let Paulson back, (now an Elite) happykitten/Dezign, (attention whore and nothing else) if Grasshopper hadn't trolled anyone in the past I'm sure he would have been allowed to stay too.

There's certainly precedent for it. All I meant was:
1. I can't read their minds, it's possible there is more to it than WC says (we only heard one side and I believe him) and
2. the mods can be unpredictable.

I didn't think what I had done 3 years ago would be such a big deal (you guys have me worried 😱). It was a mistake, but the main reason of my story was to let them know that even though the name blurredvision has already been registered, that I was, infact, the same person. As for there being more to the story, not really. I remember us sitting at work one day, bored. And we saw a post where a couple of people had already had a couple of posts in a thread with thousands upon thousands of the same word. So we figured we'd jump in and see how many words we could post. So we'd copy and paste.....and paste......and paste some more. Before we knew it, we couldn't log in anymore.

So I'm hoping that since I've caused no trouble (maybe said my peace to a couple of know-it-all member on here), they'll change my name back to my original. Like I said, it's no biggie, not like I have to have the name or I'll die. I just like it, and would like to use it from now on instead of the one I made up in about 30 seconds (can ya tell? 😉😛).

Could I get a yes or a no mods? If not, I don't wanna bug you about it. There more important issues to be kept atop this forum. Thanks.

I get what you mean and you're right on both counts. It would seem silly (and highly unfair) to reban WC for something that happened 3 years ago that's so minor though
