I have two separate setups that both use a single 22 inch monitor connected to two computers using a KVM switch.
The problem is unless I have the KVM set to the monitor that is booting Windows doesn't detect the monitor and scales back the resolution (interestingly to different rates with different computers).
So if I try and boot the computer that the KVM is currently set to, I may get anything from 640x480 to 800x600. I can then force it to 1680x1050 using the Catalyst control center (3 of the computers are using ATI cards). The fourth computer with onboard graphics seems capable of always remember 1400x900 whether the computer is connected or not and I can use that resolution on that computer)
So, is there any way to force the computers to boot at 1680x1050 even when it doesn't detect the monitor as hooked up because the KVM is set to the other computer?
