is it possible to find error code information

just thought id ask.

if this is inappropriate (read: illegal) mods, please lock delete.

but ive been looking for error code information for lexmark, tektronix and hp printers.
the company wont tell me...but i need to figure out how to fix these things.
its almost impossible without knowing what the error is.

Service manual will cover most anything you need & a whole lot more.

Now GETTING the service manual can be a pain, hard copies are usually $100-200 & the PDF's usually aren't available without an ASP login or something similar (authorized service provider).

Google will probably turn up most things as well, but the service manual would be best.
