Greetings:

We have Pro Engineer files with extension *.drw.xxx where xxx is an incremental number in a server drive. The latest files carry a highest xxx number. I need to count how many of *.drw.highest# i.e latest version in our network drive and export to an excel or csv files. Does anyone have any idea of how to achieve this? Is there any utilities out there that can achieve this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would make the use of the RIGHT function, and have column A as all your driver file versions then have the RIGHT formulae in Column B returning Thr last 3 characters from the right side of whatever is in column A. Then sort column B by highest first. Give me a shout if that doesn't make sense lol

Just had another read of your question

Try listing the directory In Command Prompt then exporting that result to a txt file

I.e dir >>c:\test.txt

Then copy the txt from that file and paste into excel

Then do the column thing I mentioned above and use the RIGHT function
