Greetings:

Is it possible to export Win2K registry under command prompt? Effectively, I am unable to access my Win2K partition and intent to re-install Win2K into a different partition then merge the export registry from previous 2K partion into the newly install one. Is there any way to perform this?

Thank you for your time and help.

couple questions.

By command prompt are you referring to recovery console?
When you say you are unable to access your w2k partition do you mean this OS won't boot or do you mean the partition is unreadable?
If it won't boot, what is the error/symptom?

Shuffling hives, running an inplace upgrade or some other ideas come to mind but I'm not quite sure I understand the problem or what you are trying to do. Give me some details about your situation. I've been known to fix a "dead" server or two ;)

If you just transplant a registry from one machine to another you run the risk of failing services and apps or a Stop 0x0000007B. There are more effective methods of preserving your settings during a reload if that's what you are after.
