Is it possible to direct (or focus) the magnetic fields from a magnet?

Like it says, is it possible to direct of focus the magentic fileds to increase the strength of the field?

Sort of, you can use a material as a "guide".
When building superconducting sensors (SQUIDs) type II superconductors like niobium are often used as "flux focusers".

However, the simplest way is to simple design the magnet(s) to have give a field of the desired shape. This is how the containment field in fusion reactors work.
That said, there is no way to make a magnetic "beam" (i.e. a "tractor beam" as seen in sci-fi flics) since the field lines need to be closed.

i remember reading in my physics book that most people agree monopoles are an impossibility.
