There are programs that image a partition and you can restore the image on another partition/drive. True Image from Acronis or Ghost from Symantec are some examples. There are utilities that come with a new drive that let you do the same thing.

Are You just swapping out one HD for another one in the same computer? If so, like Navid said, there are lots of tools.

But if you are trying to move the OS from one computer to another, look at Acronis Universal Restore.

Or some other 3rd party sector copy utilities.

There are some imaging softwares for copying all softwares, but your computer will work faster with a fresh install.
