Is it possible to copy the contactless data from a credit card onto my phone?

contactless code, data, whatever you want to call it. Is it possible to copy this data from my card onto my smartphone?

What I want to do is use my smartphone on the transit card readers so I wouldn't have to carry a transit card around. Our transit cards are debit cards issued by Mastercard that serve as both debit and transit fare card, so you use the same card forever and just keep re-loading it online. Unfortunately our transit system doesn't have a mobile app yet. Is it possible to do it myself somehow? I don't care about the debit capabilities of the card, just the transit pass code part.

your transit provider should have some sort of security measures to prevent you from doing this

you could always rip out the transit card (the actual chip is usually smaller than your fingernail) and glue it on your phone case
