Is it possible to convert an S-video jack into an RCA jack?

I'm currently in the market for a video card with TV-Out so that I can watch movies on my tv and I've been noticing that all the cards that I want to get have an S-Video jack and not the older RCA jack. Now, my tv doesn't have any S-video inputs and if I had loads of money I'd just go out and buy a new TV that has an S-video jack, but since that isn't the case would it be possible to convert the S-video signal to RCA (I hope I'm using the right terminology)?

Also, while I'm on the subject, I've got an older Dolby Pro Logic receiver hooked up to my tv and I've got an old Aureal Vortex 2500 in my computer. Is there any way I can utilize the 4-speaker output capability of my sound card so that I can get surround sound on my movies?

Mods, if this needs to be moved to another forum just let me know.

Anxiously awaiting some assistance :)

Yeah mine has an svideo out, and came with an RCA adaptor. however, I don't think it works very well because the image is ok for a few minutes and then flickers and becomes unusable.

diskop...

Have you tried different converters? Is it possible that it's a driver issue?

Checking out the links now :)

Which Radeon do you have and how do you like it? I'm considering purchasing a Radeon 7500.

I've actually never plugged my laptop (Dell Inspiron 4000) into an S-video input, I've always converted to RCA. Works fine for me using the adapter that came with my laptop. A lot of the time I'll use a 1/8"-->RCA audio cable and watch Divx movies on TV with it.

The one that came with my voodoo3 and my ti200 both still work great.
