sorry, you expect too much from the ipod. your ipod cost $200+ and you can get a 128mb memory card for less than $20.

Digicam media isn't that expensive if you know where to find the good deals.

Yes, there is a device made by Belkin that can read the popular media type cards (CF, SM, SD, MS, MMC). Does not work with the ipod mini. Is rather expensive device on the retail market so try to find a slightly used one on ebay.

*nods* This Belkin Media Reader is what you're describing.

There is also the Delkin USB Bridge, which is even more versatile.

Flash memory is at an all time low, there is no reason why you shouldn't have atleast 256mb flash memory card.

I don't know what her209's story is, but if you plan to go away for a month, even a couple of weeks, you need something to store your pics (or you're not taking enough, hehe). On one two-week trip, I took a couple of gigs of pics (at 3MP mind you) and on a month long trip it was closer to 5GB of pics (4MP that time).

I use our Archos JBMM20 for storing the pics, btw (no iPod for me).

the D-SLRs have wireless connectivity, i think. But i don't think you want to spend that much on one.

I can only think of one off the top of my head, Nikon D2H, a $3000+ camera.

I hear those things don't work all that well. Slow and/or buggy.
