Is it possible to connect a PS2 or Gamecube to a PC monitor?

I've always wondered if it was possible to do something like that but I have no idea if they make adapters to fit a console to a monitor

Yes, there's adapters out there that you can use. I've been curious about this myself (I've got a GameCube) but the only ones I can find are made by third-party people and not Nintendo.

So how does the sound work with those adapters? Do you need seperate speakers in order to get sound? Can you use headphones with a special adapter to connect to the console's sound out?

I wish I could answer your questions, but I haven't used one myself. I wanted to buy one, but I can't find one at a B&M like Best Buy so I can try it out and return it easily if it doesn't work out as expected. You can Google for it and find quite a few online stores that sell them, though. Most of them seem to be in the $35-$50 range.

I don't think you should be posting on a tech forum anymore. ;)
what you could do is go from the RCA connectors you have coming out of your console, the ones you normally connected to your TV, get an RCA to 1/8" headphone jack adapter, plug it into the line in on your computer's sound card, (assuming you are using the monitor for your computer and your game system. OR... just get a stereo that has aux-in and run your sound through that.

My TV Tuner card has audio and video inputs, which can be connected to a VCR or a gaming system

hey NEO, is there any loss in quality because of the monitor?
i imagine it wouldn't be perfectly the same as a regular television, and there might be some strange anti-aliasing issues?

thanks

Sweet!!! Thats exactly what I need, how much did it run you and where did you find it? Also how do games look on the monitor? I would imagine they should look a bit better than on a standard television.

it looks much worse on a computer screen, the conversion is anything but robust. i am running it on an LCD though, so that might cause some quality issues, seeing that the box is made for a crt. i bought it at my school's campus store for about $80.
