Is it possible to claim that you never received a parking ticket?

My friend's telling me that she got a letter in the mail claiming that she didn't pay her parking ticket and now she's being charged a late fee for not paying it.

But she says she never got a parking ticket...she thinks it might have flown away or something?

would she even be allowed to argue that?? or should she just suck it up and pay the fine...late charge and all?

sounds fishy to me...she might be trying to get out of paying the ticket all together...but would she even be able to get away with claiming that she never got one?

It's possible to claim whatever the hell you want.

Godzilla? Sure.
World War 5? Go for it.

er... godzilla attacked.. then the russian nuke blew, and it blew the ticket right off my car.

judge: well.. i'm gonna let you off this time.. but i'm not gonna let this go again. after all, what are the chances of godzilla attacking and russia nuking us in the same day again?

Better than having 2 of the 3 winning tickets to a lottery

depends on the judge. i got a notice in the mail once for a ticket, which i knew nothing of. i went to court and told the judge that i didn't know that part of town, i go to school 40 miles away, and that ticket was written at 8am... even if i did go to that part of town, it would never be at 8am on a saturday. the judge believed me and threw out the ticket.

Your friend can claim she's Abraham Lincoln but she's unlikely to get any sympathy from the court.

Not to be a dick but i've done it before. There was this one place that i thought was ok to park and usually park at, but then one day i saw a car with a ticket on it in that spot so i was wondering if the ticket was for parking so I took it.

Needless to say, if he went to court claiming he never got a ticket, he would be honest.
