is it possible to change my return flight time?

I'm just wondering if airlines are actually as strict about changing flight times as they say they are. It says on my itinerary that I can't change the return leg of my flight with out a $125 charge, more than my ticket itself. I want to change the time to later in the day, maybe just by a few hours, by the same airline (American). Do you think they will allow this without charging me, or charging me only a little? Anyone have any experience with this?

I know there's probably a very little chance but I just wanted to see if any AT members could give me any advice on this. thanks.

yep, theyre usually pretty strict about this sort of thing. if it says theyre going to make money if you do this, then they'll make money if you do it.

They WILL charge you to change.

If you are flying Frequent Flier Miles, they wont. Was true the end of Sept. for me.

If it's a busy day you can show up and hope they overbooked the flight, then volunteer to get bumped. :)

They'll probably allow you to change the time without any fees - if you bought a full price ticket (e.g. - $1,200.) Somehow, I don't think that's your situation though because it's usually only big corporations that pay those kinds of fares.
