AFAIK if it's double crossed, no. (atleast if it has another name on it than you)

The person the check is written to has to sign it and write something like "to BigFatCow" on it. Not the appropriate phrasing, but something like this. Call your bank to ask.

And I can cash shecks written to my child. Just have to write father in quotes next to my signature.

if its endorsed by the person it is made out to, its as good as cash iirc

how do i get that?

You need the actual signature. And there will be a 5 day hold on the check so get ready to be talking to the cops.

So if i try to forge the signature i will get busted? and if somehow i do succeed i have to wait 5 days to get the money?

If you are the person's parent and he/she is a minor, if the person endorses it and signs it over to you, if you share a bank account and deposit it then make a withdrawal, or if you have a legal document showing that you have a financial Power of Attorney for this person (I've done this in the past with an ex who got called up for Desert Storm.)

i think so, as long as the back of the check is signed.

i've also cashed checks where they've misspelled my name (usually rebate checks), they really didnt check.

whether it's legal.. that i dont know.

I dont hae any of that.

I saw a truck with a sign on it in front of a gas station the other day that said "Checks Cashed - No ID Required" do you think they would give me cash for it?

If it were me at the bank or store or what not, I most certainly would not cash the check for you unless you could provide legal valid [state] ID.

who exactly is this check made out to? it'd better not be a stolen check. karma's gonna get you for this.

oh and those places that cash without id would prob only do it if the check were endorsed already by the person named on the check.

If the person it's to signs it, then you sign it, you're good to deposit it. Cashing wouldn't work unless you have an account at that bank or the check was written from an account at that bank.

Sure. They'll also take your picture and thumbprint.

To cash a check that's not made out to you have it signed over in your name, by the person it's made out to. It must say "Pay to the order of NEW PERSON" then signed underneath.

i think it's pretty damn obvious that this guy has no right to the money. If he had any sort of right he would've told us the situation already.

so yeah, to the op: go burn in hell
