Is it possible to burn CDs with filenames longer then 64 characters?!

Hi,

Whenever I try to burn a data CDROM (CD-R) I notice that filenames longer then 64 characters are being cut off. I have a Plextor drive and burn CDROMS directly in WinXP or with Nero where I use Joliet but I always have this 64 character limitation.

Is it possible to burn CDROMS with filenames longer then 64 characters or not? If so, how do you do this? Can this be done with the drive/software I have or do I need another program, etc..?! I would like to have a maximum of 128 characters, is this possible?!

Thanks!

I just have to ask - what is this extremely long name you've got planned? 😀 Sorry I couldn't be much help.

My thoughts exactly.

That or a short story of some sort.

Nobody who knows a program that can burn filenames longer then 64 characters, cause I can't do it with Nero 5.5. It's also important that the disc would also be readable on a PC using Windows95.

Isn't it so that there are filesystems like Long Joliet, Rockridge, ISO9660:1999, UDF etc.. that allow to write CD's with filenames longer then 64 character (128 would be enough) or won't it work on a PC with Win95 then?! Why wouldn't it work with Windows95, cause I have Win95 and on my harddisk there are many filenames longer then 64 characters?!

Anybody can give more info about this please?! Thanks!
