Is it possible to add your own music in GTA3?

Been playing for only a little while and I'm already tired of the radio stations and the same songs they play...any way to add mp3s or .wav's, or maybe turned the radio off?

Yes. There should be a guide type thing. There's a folder in the GTA install folder and you stick your mp3's in it (mp3 only though I believe, not other formats). You should then be able to select the mp3's as a radio station.
Why not just turn down the music volume and run something like Winamp in the background though?

The pc version has its own mp3 player, you should have run across it when flipping through radio stations.

You don't actually have to copy the mp3 files to the directory, you can just make shortcuts and copy those into the directory. Works just fine that way, and you don't double the size of your mp3 collection

It will only show up as an option if there is anything in that folder.
