Is it possible for someone to send you a virus if they know your IP?

My computer has been hacked into left and right. I finally cleaned all the viruses off my computer and installed ZoneAlarm. Sometimes I have to disable ZoneAlarm for some programs to work. Then I would forget to renable it and I would find myself infected with some more trojan backdoor viruses. This is really bugging me. I did a scan using Trend Micro online virus scanner which usually detects all the backdoor viruses but this time it found nothing. I know something is fishy because everytime I open Task Manager, it would close by itself. ZoneAlarm also reports that explorer.exe wants to access the internet. Internet Explorer is not even open! I'm d/ling Pc-Chillin right now. Hope to find this ah heck but wtf?

Buy a router. A Dlink 604DI is only $40. Install router b/t your computer and the wall socket. Wipe and reload your drive. Install a full-time virus scanner like Norton. Stop opening those porn attachments in the emails you get from Sirwhackalot.com.

The only programs I d/l and run are the legit ones from big name companies. Drivers and things of those sorts so I know it's definately NOT because of some infected files I got off the net. And like I said these viruses only come back when I disable the firewall.

Are you running Kazaa or other file-sharing program? Sure sounds like it. Those things are bad.

Yes. It's been done before, and will be done again. If you want the smallest chance to get a virus, get an apple.
