I upgraded from a G450 to a Saphire 9500 128mb non pro and would like to use 2048x768 res.

try powerstrip. doesn't your monitor need to support that resolution as well? and what would you use it for? that sounds even wider than the 16:9 that dvd uses!

oh, also, rage3d tweak has custom resolution options as well.

it dual 1024X768. i've been running a matrox g450 and it is a resolution that spans 2 monitors with taskbar across both.

i like it better than the extended desktop especially for running a slideshow on both monitors.

with the extended desktop it only shows on the primary and not the secondary + the taskbar is only on one screen.

so is this possible?

apparently there is third party software that can add features like this. unfortunately i don't know the name of it off hand. there is a thread here about it tho, something about running 2 differnet wallpapers. good luck.

thanks Dave for your help.

i'm trying ultrmon now and it does great with the wallpaper but the taskbar and screensaver slideshows options don't seem so good (might just be me) still show on only one screen.

anyone else know of any other programs like ultramon?

I'm pretty sure you can - I"m doing that on a Ti4200 right now. nVidia calls it "stretch desktop" where you put your desktop on two monitors. Just remember that you can't get 3d apps to run in this resolution, and even DVD's and divx won't play on two monitors (they only support running full screen on one monitor, or cloned on two monitors).
