------------------------- Is it okay to polish my car?

thatsright

Had some bumper work done on my car. A few spots had paint coming off, plus primer all the way down to the fiberglass. Anyway, the repair job was great, can't even detect any lines. Bumper repainted (one side blends in; other does not at all....ehhhh I knew what to expect).

So, how soon should I hold off on getting the car polished? Was going to get it washed and then hand polish it myself...but wondering if I should wait a while to let paint/putty dry?

How long should I wait, if at all?

I just had my hood repainted and the bodyshop said no waxing for 90 days...

Ouch..... Well if thats the case...then were talking about September....might be no point then....

At least for washing, I guess I'll do that if they can avoid the bumper

Waxing might be okay after a while, but I definitely wouldn't polish it yet. Washing should be fine after 2 weeks I think, as long as you use the proper car shampoo (clearcoat safe).

<-- Professional Detailer. 60 days before waxing or polishing. That's how it is when cars come right from the factories also. We always had to check the inside door lable to see when it was painted if it was a new model car to make sure we could touch it when it came in to the dealership to be sold. Hope that helps. 🙂
