Is it okay to play both TF2 and CoD4?

You can play ANYTHING and its always fine. Playing guitar hero will not make you hate unreal tournament.

Both are fun imo. One does not detract from the other. I hop onto TF2 for the 20 min funfest before I have to do something, COD4 for the hunker down longer stretches atm...
