Reloaded XP Pro for the upteeneh time (it seems), and this time chose FAT32 for the windows partition. When I got the OS loaded and SP1 in place - I thought it might be time to format D:\. It only gave the option for NTFS.

I am tired - so for now I have C: - FAT32 & D: - NTFS.

OK - or should I re-do it all AGAIN - befoer I go too far.

It won't hurt anything. NTFS is better and more secure. You can actualy convert the FAT32 partition to NTFS without having to re-install windows.

Doesn't hurt anything. Most of the security features of NTFS aren't important to a home user. Only thing that might be an issue is that FAT32 has a file size limit of 2Gb (I think) so you'll run into problems with large video files.

WARNING: Backup any mission critical data first. This usually goes smoothly but there is always some risk.
