Well if you did this kind of thing you will know two reasons why...upper body conserves a lot more heat and many don't like board burn.
You actually get pretty bad rashes from the wetsuits as well. I usually just paddle out in my rash guard.

She's wearing contest jerseys in both photos. Typically pro surfers, both M & F, will wear them during a heat and remove them asap once the heat is over to avoid a farmer's tan. They do function as rash guards as well but anyone who surfs as much as pros do usually doesn't need one in the first place.I vote for babe thread too.
I never understood the concept of fully covering your upper body and staying nak3d downstairs...

Bullshit.
I used to wear a rash guard under my wetsuit.
You see a rash guard anywhere in this pic?

I thought not. Your argument is invalid.
She's not surfing in that pic dill weed. She's modeling.![]()
It's not bullshit at all. While I was no pro, for a while I was surfing anywhere from 2 to 6 days out of every week, waves permitting, and had no need for a rash guard. A couple of my surfing buddies were former pros and never wore rash guards either. I never had a need for a rash guard until I hurt my back and cut back on surfing. Once I couldn't go as frequently a 3 or 4 hour session would chafe the hell out of me without one.Bullshit.
