Is it ok to mix ATI and Nvidia cards on the same board?

Will this work? I've run a 6200LE + 7900GT before in my two PCI express slots, obviously not in SLI but just in dual card mode. Is it possible to do this with an ATI and Nvidia card together? Or just two different cards in general, like an ATI PCI-E + a Matrox PCI card?

How are you going to handle the disply drivers?

I don't think you can have both installed at the same time. (correct me if i'm wrong here)

Were you planning on uninstalling each driver everytime you wanted to use the card?

You can, but I wouldn't recommend trying to install both control panels at the same time.

ive done this. When using one PCI ( non express ) and the other card being either AGP or PCI-e it worked fine. When I tried both as pci-e i couldnt get it to work right but I know that it is supposed to.

Cool. Thanks guys!

I think I'll just get an el-cheapo PCI card then. Regular PCI is still going to be around for a while, right?

No reason you shouldn't able to use both control panels, though things may get a little clogged (like color settings).

Having both drivers installed at the same time should not be an issue either. When you run the setup program it checks for ATI or NVIDIA devices and simply associates a PCI device with the driver it installs.
