I'm already burned in a couple locations but want to keep tanning outside over the next few days. Would it make the burns a lot worse or would it turn out ok, I know I need to use stronger sunblock now heh

it will burn even worse. ever wonder why the day after a sunburn if you put that same spot in the sun again it will feel like its burning much quicker? you could try and put some after sun lotion on, or aloe vera, and on top of that put on a much stonger sunblock on those areas. i tend to peel a bit if i get sun burnt, but the after sun lotion fron bannana boat really helps out.

I wouldn't worry about it. Most people who tan don't get cancer. What are the odds? You can't live life in fear. Just uh, don't eat bacon cheeseburgers while smoking and doing shots while you're laying out, ok?

After showing some people more experienced in these matters they came to the conclusion that I wasn't burned that bad and that most of the redness would be gone by tomorrow, and if not by then it would definately be gone the day after tomorrow.

If I had gone out and just burned worse that would have been stupid judgement, but as it is I was smart enough to ask :D

i can give some good advice here, i have had sun poisoning, my mom has had sun allergy develop, and she also worked for a dermatologist back in the day...

your nationality will come into play quite a bit, but if you are irish or something, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WEAR LOTS OF SUNBLOCK AND DON'T GET BURNED

sunburn, sun poisoning, sun allergy, melanoma are NOT FUN. i've had 2 of those 4, my mom has had ALL of those 4... take care of your skin

nah im not Irish, i have fairly olive colored skin so I can get pretty dark in the summer but for the first time out in the sun i was way too light skinned to be using 4spf sunblock

not to mention i was out there for 6-7 hours and only applied lotion before i even went outside, i think reapplying might have helped

Well i would say HELL NO! Living in Hawaii, I can tell you first hand, if your burned, stay out of the sun. You will only increase the chances you will hurt yourself.

So the intense pain of sunburn isn't enough of a warning from your body to figure out that the answer is "No fvcking way."?

How come it's so important to have a tan?

All I do is work outside with my shirt off and a pair of shorts, and I usually become tan in two days of doing something productive. Such as cleaning my pool, scrubbin' the deck, and getting ready to re-stain it.

I once got sunburned so badly that the skin was all brown and hard.

grossest thing ever. I'd avoid it if possible.

I've never had a sunburn in my life, but it seems common sense to me to stay out of the sun if you're already damaged.

depends on how bad it is

2-3 days for a mild burn, 7-10 days for blistered skin
