Mango, the orangish fruit. Does anyone know for sure if there's anything bad for dogs in it (other than maybe the acidity)?

No! You cannot have the Mango, and neither can your Dog...the Mango is not for you.

Alright thanks guys. Only gave him a few small bite size pieces of course. Our dog loves fruit but we never give him much because it's not really a big part of a dog's diet. I've never given him mango before so I just wanted to see if there was anything real bad for dogs in it that I didn't know about.

Durian, now that's one I haven't thought of. I wonder how much he'd like that. My girlfriend thinks it's completely gross but I like it.

The dog shouldn't have fruit for the same reason he shouldn't have chocolate.... most dogs are diabetic.

Not all though, I've seen one that managed to open the fridge and devour a pound of fudge before he got caught with no ill effects.

Well, chocolate presents its own set of problems because of the theobromine contained within which is toxic to dogs. We actually had a scare a few years back where he got into an entire bag of Hershey's Kisses and came very close to dying from theobromine poisoning. :(

But yes it's generally not a good idea to give lots of sugar-laden stuff to dogs. Ours has been able to handle the occasional piece of fruit in the past so it's not a big deal for him.

I give water melons to my dogs. And he loves it, I usually give him the white part though, after I eaten the red and sweet part

And they love it alot. They poop will become odorless.

As for mango, I guess I love it alot. And I would give the skin to the dog only.

Absolutely no chocolate or onions. There was also a scare about raisins a while ago that is still up in the air, but I don't give 'em just to be safe.

My dog LOVES mangos! When she smells them being cut, she comes running (even from outside). She has had them for years, no side affects. But we dont feed her a whole one at a time, we just hold it up and she licks them clean:Q

My friend's dog ate pens in college... apparently their stomach fluids are much stronger than ours for digestion... I'm sure it won't hurt if u feed it mangos!
