Is it OK to eat dirt?

I'm eating some greens right now and apparently did not do an adequate job of washing em first. It's very gritty and probably full of soil and bugs. Think it's OK?

My aunt ate dirt when she was little, and she's in her 60s now. I think it's okay. 😉

And just to clarify: I did not intentionally eat dirt. (Although I did continue and finished the dirt lunch.) Mmm . . . dirt. Oh well, grit is good for the crop.
