is it ok to eat a raw egg?

salmonella.... did it origianlly come from salmon??? If it did.... no more fish for me... ;)

i know lot of people that eat em raw all the time and theyve never gotten sick, but u never know...

Salmonella isn't too much of a threat, actually. It's fairly rare that you'll get it from eggs. But it doesn't hurt to be safe. Why do you want to eat raw eggs anyway?
BTW, salmonella is contained in the whites, so as long as those are cooked you're safe.

I make homemade Caesar salads all the time, and coddle the eggs just to be on the safe side. You poke a hole in the side of the egg with a pin (to prevent the shell from cracking) and cook it for one minute. This leaves the egg more or less raw but can (at least theoretically) kill some of the bad stuff.
