Is it OK to do this?

My CPU and NB temps were 41 C at idle. so I decided to experiment a little took a spare 80mm fan that I had and stood it up on the bottom of my case so it would blow directly on to the NB. I didn't cut a hole into the side of the case for this new fan, so it is basically just circulating the air that is already in there. In addition to this new fan, I also have a side mounted intake fan (80mm), a 120mm exhaust on the back of the case and also a 120 mm on the front of the case. The new fan that I installed inside the case seemed to help lower my temps to 32 (CPU) and 35 (NB) idle. Load temps go up to 42/45. Is it OK to leave the fan standing up on the bottom of my case like that? Right now it is attached with very strong double sided tape.

BTW: The NB already has a Zalman chipset cooler attached.

If his temperature went from 41C at idle (with more than one check of course) to 32C (cpu) and 35 (NB) at idle with the addition of the fan I would assume that is helping him. ;)

As long as you are not transporting the cpu (case) around or hitting with a hammer that should work great. I have jerry-rigged som interesting fans in my time in my case, LOL.
