Is it OK to borrow a Vista key for a few minutes?

I'm not sure if it's illegal or not. My services just started crashing left and right and then my activation got screwed up. The only way to get back on is to enter a working key. But I need to get on to fix it.

Can anyone help?

No sharing or requesting pirated software. Discussions addressing piracy are allowed, but using the Forums as a hub or a school for pirates is not.
