You are, at best, a marginal poster, a poor ethicist and worse than useless as a logician.
OMG, I am so sorry that the 1200 people who have read that thread now know who this guy is by name, if they clicked that link, shame on me and may I burn in hell for eternity.
Dude, if you happen to read ATPN I am sorry for posting a link to that page, shame on me :frown:

Now can we get back on topic?

If you are referring to that page (who had the IM conversation with Foley), it isn't clear whether he is homosexual, bisexual, or heterosexual. I'd assume he is heterosexual.

So, then outing is okay for you when it works for your party - correct?

and how do you feel about gay marriage, since you seem to be the gay rights crusader?

/and please quit trying to tie an issue of pederasty into an issue about gays...

I did not out anyone myself, I posted a link to back up what I was saying, and what I was saying is that the Sexual IM the news was making a big deal about was between a 18 year old and Foley, not a minor. It was a mistake to link to THAT page since it identified the guy by name. I should have found another place to link to that had the story, I already apologized for that mistake, now get over it.

How does what I think about gay marriage matter? I posted my thoughts on this in another thread, I am not going to be side tracked by some false argument.

I don't care if someone is gay or straight or neither or both, that is their private life. I think it is disgusting when someone decided that for political purposes that they can throw these congressional staffers life out there for the whole world to see. If these staffers are gay and want to hide that fact then that is between then and god, so to speak. And not any of my business.

BTW: With this Nuke test it will be ?Foley who?? with in days. Maybe Bush asked Kim to do this for him huh? An October surprise?

Obviously, you have a reading comprehension problem.

You quoted:

This is the way I see it: each of these gay men, for siding with the Republican anti-gay agenda have contributed to teenagers being beat up at school for being suspected of being gay. Any of these hypocrites worry about those lives they destroyed? No. Each of these gay men who side with the Republican anti-gay agenda contribute to gay teens suicide attempts and suicide completeions. Do they worry about the lives they destroyed then? No. They care about advancing their careers. Each of these gay men who side with the Republican anti-gay agenda contribute to i love you bashings every year. Do they care about the lives that are destroyed then? No. They only care about advancing their careers. Each of these gay men who side with the Republican anti-gay agenda contribute to the job, housing and public accomodations discrimination that gays are faced with everyday. Do they care about the lives they destroyed then? No. They only care about advancing their careers then.

Then responded:

So basically if you are gay and in the closet you are to blame for gays being beat up, committing suicide, "i love you bashing" and job and housing discrimination. Nice.

I highlighted the pertinent section to make it easier for you to understand the intent of the post you quoted.

Simply "being in the closet" is inert, benign. Joining the regular Republican gay-bashing parade is detestable. Doing both is morally bankraupt.

However, I actually do belive you are bright enough to have understood it when you read it. But Bush has been a great example for you it seems, as you have mastered his oft used technique of arranging a few of the words spoken by others to have a new, and contradictory meaning.

Not sure whether to award you demerits for logic or character for that.

Jack... what exactly is the "anti-gay addenda" these people talk about?

The only bill I know of to come up in congress was about gay marriage. And that is more about defending the idea of marriage being a religious creation that takes place between a man and a woman and less about bashing gays.

I don't see Bush etc out there bashing gays or condemning them all to hell etc etc.
No body in congress is doing that either.

False argument? Simple question fro you uber... do you think it is ok to "out" a congressional staffer in order to make a political point? That is the whole point of this thread.

You seem to have no problems outing/exploiting people to make a political point.

Essentially, you "outed a congressional staffer to make a political point." My feeling is that no, this isn't an OK thing to do, but your actions suggest you feel otherwise. With that in mind, can the phony piety and outrage - you're as bad as (and essentially identical to) the people you're calling out.

Jack... what exactly is the "anti-gay addenda" these people talk about?

The "gay marraige" issue is only one of many that the Republicans have pushed at all levels of government; and even that is smoke and mirrors.

The majority of them would settle for civil unions that confer the same government benefits that are offered to traditional couples. The word marraige is just thrown in to add a little religious seasoning to the pot.

The true issue is denying a segment of our population equal service by the government.

The government's continued denial that gays are people of equal stature simply empowers the homophobic nuts in this country to continue since they feel that even the government agrees with them. They see it as a validation.

The guy in the IM is not a congressional staffer and I did not "out" him. He claims that it was all a prank to get the congressman say stupid things so he and his friends could laugh about it.

And no matter what *I* did his name was going to come out the second that IM entered the media spot light. So stop blaming me for posting a link to some web site that I did not create or had anything to do with. I found it via another web site.

Also I am not the one threatening to name one person every weekday for who knows how long. The person I linked to was already out in the news. Stop being pissed at me and decided if you think the guy posting a name a day should be allowed to do it or should be called upon to stop by Democrats and others who might have sway over him.

Ps. I don?t think any of this matters any more because any people pissed about Foley and were not going to vote will now have to look at N Korea and decide if they want Democrats in charge or not.

What equal service are they being denied?

I support the idea of civil unions, the whole debate about marriage is that gays want the word marriage because they think it will give them some kind of legitimacy in the eyes of the country or some such.

I think I am done with this thread unless anyone wants to comment on the topic I started it with.
Do you think it is ok for people to "out" congressional staffers for political reasons.

The world does not revolve around this little forum dude. There have been all of 1200 people to see the big Foley thread in about a week, many of those repeats. At most 100-200 people are here I would guess.
I don't think what we say or do on here has ANY effect on the outside world, no one from the media read my post clicked on the link and then posted that info on ABC etc.

Think more than 1200 people got a peek at that "news?" Thanks to people like you that wish to turn an issue over pederasty into an issue over gays - i'm sure more people than 1200 have read, seen, heard of it....

/mission accomplished?

He obviously WAS a congressional staffer at one time, or we wouldn't be talking about him as a former page. Frankly I regard his "prank" hedge as being ALMOST as stupid as your own feigned outrage about the outing of other congressional staffers - it certainly looks to me as though he doesn't want to be known as a gay (or bisexual) man, so he has crafted a laughably thin excuse. He wouldn't have had to bother, but for people like you and "Wild Bill" at "passionateamerica."

You can't seriously be this thick, can you? As I've asked many times over, in what sense are you a "professor"? I wouldn't have thought someone so slow-witted would be allowed to teach shop class at juvenile detention facility. If you insist on casting stones, move out of the glass house, dopey.
