thanks everyone. i slept just fine, woke up and i'm not sore or anything, feel great, hands aren't shaky anymore. i'm in the southern california area, going to check out an auto body place or two, get an estimate and have my car repaired at the expense of the other driver. appreciate everyone's kind words and advice. cheers

yeah i think it is, it doesnt help either if you begin thinking about what could of been if he was going that little bit faster or if he'd pulled out a little earlier.

i was in a crash a while back, some ricer jumped the gun at a juction and hit our car (renault espace) side on, sent us on to two wheels and careering into someones garden lol

he was out of our FOV so it was a super shock to be suddenly on two wheels in a 7 seater lol!

the best thing was though, the renault has fibreglass panels on the doors and wings .... we had a small hole about the size of a elongated quarter in the rear passenger door. that was it.

his vauxhall astra (Mk2) had a bent up bonnet, busted headlamps, radiator, bumper .... quite major. all we needed was a new door panel and a check to see if he hadnt busted the rear wheel alignment, CV joints, Bearings.

but i began thinkin days later about what might of been if he'd jumped the gun a little earlier because then i'd of been right in the firing line then

to me, it sounded and smelled like a gun went off. so loud that my ears rang from sometime after.

Well... airbags are inflated by a very carefully measured high explosive charge. Glad you were ok.

You'll get over it soon, my dad was struck by lightning and so he was naturally shaky after it, he's gotten over it though 😛

Well it could be an injury like a pinched nerve or something or nothing but I'd see a doc if I were you just to be safe.

Like a lot of others said, it is a good idea to get checked out anyway. I hit a deer about a year ago on my way home from work and was out of it for a while after that. It wasn't even a bad hit, but it happened so fast that it kinda scared me. I also had a hard time going around that curve at the speed limit for months after. I hope I never have a real accident.

My first accident was with a public telephone during the rain back in high school. I was shaking because I knew my dad was going to kick my a$$.

Thank God my son came out with a minor scratch.

That's what's most important.

I felt bad nobody commented on your post after it probably took you 5 minutes to type that 🙂

I was shaky when I totalled my car a few years back. My girlfriend calmed me down with some choice words. Namely, "mmmph", "phrumph" and "ghph" 😀

get to a chiropractor  - insurance should pay for it

make sure you don't end up with problems in your spine/neck years down the road (no pun intended)

your car is probably totaled.

getting in your first car crash is pretty scary and traumatic, even if you aren't injured. i was definetely shaky the first time i got hit. i was ok again after a few hours, though.
