Is it normal for vision to vary much?

How much variation is normal for vision? Sometimes I get up in the morning & I can see fine (well, fine for me, which isn't very good), other days I can't see worth crap. Today is one of the latter days, I couldn't make out faces on people sitting 6' away from me on the bus. 1024x768 on my 17" monitor here at work seems blurry as hell, & I can't read the codes I'm putting into my phone. I'm wearing my glasses, too.

🙁

This sucks. It will probably be OK by later today, but on days like this I'm really glad I'm not driving. Is this normal, or should I try to do anything about it? My vision isn't very good normally, but on days like this I'm hopeless.

When did you last have an eye exam? Maybe your glasses are no longer the right prescription, and on some days your eyes can overcome it but not on others.

I'd get an exam and tell them what you are experiencing.

I got my first pair of glasses in July or so of last year, so 8 months maybe? Something like that.

Maybe I should go back.

I get that alot too... I notice my vision is much better in the morning than any other time... My eye doctor said that its dependant on the amount of strain your eyes have gone through that day in order to correct your bad vision.

Your prescription should not change significantly in 8 months. If you can get by without wearing them at all for a few days, it might be useful to know if the variation is related to wearing your glasses. See if it goes away if you don't wear your glasses for a couple days. That would be useful for the eye doctor to know.

My vision was REAL good for the longest time.
When I started cutting back on "herb" my eye sight started getting worse.
I made it well into my 40's before I needed glasses. When I had my eye's checked a short time ago, it turn's out the pressure in my eyes is high. When I "indulge" I see better than if I haven't smoked in awhile.

(this is NOT promoting use of "herb", but it may be YOUR eye pressure is high as well) 😉

<< or you can have 20/15 vision like me >>

Bastard. :disgust: 😉

Mine is 20/100 in my right eye & 20/40 in my left before correction. After correction it's around 20/60 for the right & 20/30 for the left. And they said that's the best they can do. Amblyopia sucks that way.

Maybe you need to replace the batteries in your bionic eye.

Can lack of any kind of vitamin/mineral/etc. cause problems with eyes? that might be the problem.

<---taking wild guesses

Viper GTS,

Well, yes, my vision blurs some days and such, but not to that degree. Some days I can pick up road signs way before most people. Other days, you can read signs before me -which probably doesn't make sense to people other than you and I. But you get the point...

nik (has uncorrected 20/15)

I feel for you. I was diagnosed with karataconus(sp.) last year, my eyesight changes daily it goes from bad to really bad to blind.🙁

This is something I should know, but how often should you have your eyes checked? I've only had them checked once since I got out of high school.:Q I know I don't have a problem though. I was also told that I had 20/15 eyesight during my last checkup, but that was over 20 years ago.😱

Was having focusing problems..turned out to be a nutrasweet/aspertame reaction..that crap sweetner they put in diet soft drinks. Stoped using the stuff per doctors advice and my focus returned in about 3 days. Nasty stuff. nutrasweet/aspartame.

blood pressure can change vision too. Had a physical lately? Vision problems you talk about are pretty common, I think, so if you have no other problems, see an opthamologist. If you have other Sx as well, see an MD. You don't want to end up like this 😎
