Is it "normal" for a laptop to implement an XGA display method?

What does XGA mean, compared to VGA?

Does it have anything to do with the fact that it's a TFT screen?

Is XGA "default" for laptops?

How does it affect image quality?

I'm thinking of picking up one of those: Link

What should I look for when buying a laptop?

TIA!

XGA (eXtended Graphics Array) is the resolution of 1024x768. It has nothing to do with the type of display, it's pretty much a marketing buzzword.

A partial resolution list:
VGA = 640x480
SVGA = 800x600
XGA = 1024x768
WXGA = 1200x800
SXGA = 1280x1024
SXGA+ = 1400x1050
WSXGA+ = 1680x1050
UXGA = 1600x1200
WUXGA = 1920x1200

What you should look for depends on your needs. Do you need a desktop replacement? or are you planning on carrying it a lot? Do you need a long battery life?
