Is it nearly Christmas?

When do you start feeling festive?

Friends of mine have seen mince pies in supermarkets.

I like christmas music and just redownloaded my christmas playlist after seeing this on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHIx6ViBplo

I generally don't consider it christmas until I have seen the "holidays are coming" coke advert on the telly (that might just be a british thing), but would eat mince pies all year round if shops sold them (I am too lazy to make them myself).

However I am starting to feel a bit festive myself.

They have had Christmas decorations next to the Halloween candy since 2 or 3 weeks ago. I can't believe it. Thanksgiving decorations I can understand, but c'mon!

I wait until Friday before I start singing Christmas carols, otherwise the Mrs. gets grumpy about it :p

The last 26 years, work up through a half day on Christmas Eve. Quite the festive mood killer.

I don't think about Christmas until after Thanksgiving. I ignore attempts to remind me of Christmas before that.

The local Walmart was just starting to put the Christmas stuff on the shelves when I was there on Monday. Costco has been selling it since the summer. Oddly, I didn't notice any Christmas stuff up for sale in the Canadian Tire next to my work. Maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention, but they usually start shoving it out in September.

I realize they're priming the consumer for the holiday rush by putting it out this early. Though they wouldn't do it if there weren't people buying it.
To me, the holiday season doesn't start until Toronto does their big Santa Claus Parade. That's on November 17th this year IIRC.

I take it off every year as we have a floater holiday. I do have to work a full shift on New Year's Eve though, from 1-9pm. I remember it being completely dead when I did it last year. No traffic on the highways to report, station was deserted except for a skeleton crew of production staff. Spent that afternoon "making puppies" as a friend of mine puts it.

Keep your eyes open on November 1st. Hoping to get the secret santa sign up going then. :)

Making some more money with a new job and the bills are getting lower with the girlfriend moving in, so I think I'll be participating this year. :)

Took last year off. I am totally in this year.

It does suck it only ends up being like 4 of us Canadians getting each other every year. :D

I now mark the official beginning of the Christmas season when Incorruptible starts posting asinine "war on christmas" threads every day, for 3 consecutive days.

The 3rd day of his idiotic threads is now the official beginning of Christmas.
