Hello,
I have an i7 3770k overclocked to 4.2ghz on a maximus gene v. when I convert files my cpu makes a buzzing noise, which is louder when I move my mouse and sometimes shuts down. No graphic card. My temp during load is around 29-33 degrees celcius. My build is :
Thermaltake Chaser MK-I Full Tower Gaming ,
Thermaltake 750W Modular Power Supply. 80+ Bronze ,
Thermaltake Water 2.0 Extreme
Crucial 32GB kit DDR3 1600 MPN: BLS4KIT8G3D1609DS1S00.
Seagate 2TB Serial ATA HD

What the, well id definitely say something is wrong. When you say CPU makes a buzzing noise, you mean the cpu fan im guessing right? Sounds like your heatsink or something is not seated correctly or just flat out insufficient cooling to the point where its shutting down. I guess it could be the power supply but....sounds unlikely.

The part that doesnt make sense is how your load temps could be 29-33C if its overheating and shutting down.... Clearly something is amiss here.

Yeah, you need to figure out where the buzzing is coming from, obviously theres no way we can help if you cant narrow it down.

Regarding the PSU, it is definitely overkill for that rig without a video card. You could have run a 300-400 watter and been just fine. I dont use nor ever owned a Thermaltake PSU, not sure who makes those off the top of my head so......I would never buy one personally.

Obviously there is some serious issue here if the computer shuts down automatically. If you ask me, you fucked up overclocking and have bad unstable settings. Run prime95 or some other CPU stress test to see if its the CPU. Then run memtest or something to make sure memory is stable. Just start narrowing stuff down.
