Is it my motherboard?

There's been something wrong with my computer lately. It hasn't been running smooth like it used to and you can tell that when it chops up, the sound becomes all staticy and sometimes even stops working until I restart the machine. I use the onboard sound card.

Any ideas? I think it might be either the HDD or motherboard.

And everything takes forever to load. When I try to load games like CS or War3, it takes forever to load and just seems like the computer is dying :\

Does anyone know if windows update might have something to do w/ it? Recently it hasnt been going away.. How do I get rid of it?

Go to the manufacuter of your hd's site and download their utility, it will tell you if your drive is failing or not.

Ok now everytime I load up Counter-strike, the computer automatically reboots. This has happened 5-6 times in a row...

Download the pre-compiled bootable iso (zip)

Get a cd-rw, and place it in your optical drive.

Use Nero or whatever you have to burn the image to the disc. DO NOT just copy and paste it onto the disc.

When whatever burning program you are using asks you if you want this to be a bootable cd, click yes.

Turn off computer with cd in optical drive.

Turn on computer. Memtest86+ should run.

If it doesnt run, go to bios and make sure that boot from cd is higher priority than boot from hard drive. If it still doesnt work, you screwed up in the burning process.
