Is it my HDD?

It took me about 2 hours of restarting my pc (it usually froze on the Disk Unattached screen, or during the Windows loading screen) to finally get a hold of you guys for help.

When I turn on my pc it would start up normally but it would freeze during the startup process. Once I do it get to work, my mouse/pc has a delay (kind of freezes) for a sec, and usually completely freezes and stops working for another 2 hours.

Is it my HDD?

Might be missing some Chipset Drivers or have messed up Drivers.

Also, some the System configuration might help isolate some possible problems here.

My computer was fine 5 months ago, and this just happened last night.

How can I fix it, or check if I have anything missing?

Can you boot into Safe Mode?

Doesn't really sound like a hard drive with the Mouse delay deal. Seems like a Driver or even Malware/Spyware/Virus.

It really isnt a mouse delay. Its like the computer just froze for a a few seconds (every program will freeze along with it).

Safe mode: I did, I just got a bunch of lines continuing down the page and it just stops from there.

Now I'm getting like a scratching noise from the HDD (frequently), the same noise you get when you turn on the computer.

I used spybot and it didn't pick up anything that's a big threat. I also tried AOL Kaskersky but I didn't bother to finish the computer scan because it will take forever, along with the frequent delays.
