is it more unhealthy to force yourself to throw up after drinking?

Sometimes when I have too much to drink, I'll force myself to throw up before I head to bed just because I don't like the feeling of too much alcohol in my body the next day. I only do this when I'm at a bar/club and me and friends start taking shots and hard liquor. So what would be more unhealthy? Leaving a lot of alcohol in my body or forcing myself to throw up?

i'd say leaving the alcohol, but it depends on how many times you do this. often i've thrown up after drinking all night and still been sick the next day - some of the alcohol has already been converted to that acetaly-something that makes you sick.

The alcohol only stays in your stomach for a little bit after you drink it...throwing up doesn't get any alcohol out of your body, unless you JUST did some shots or chugged some beer.

I have done this and I am pretty damn sure that it has helped. I have probably done it like 10 times in my life. Usually I know when to cut myself off.

Drinking a couple tall glasses of water would be a better idea. Throwing up is just going to dehydrate you...it's not going to make your hangover any easier, in fact, it will probably make it worse.

A couple of aspirin with that water helps too. The water is mandatory.

The damage has already been done to your liver. Why make your esophagus suffer as well?

Just drink a crapload of water before going to bed.

The liver already takes a beating from the alcohol so never take painkillers after drinking. Back in my partying days I once did 10 shots of bacardi 151...if I didn't throw that shit up I probably would of went to the hospital.
