Is it mew or Nvidia hasn;t release a singe update to their current driver for xp for ages?

I am just wondering since i went to check if there is new driver out and the latest one they got for xp for the 7800gt line was all the way from november while ati keep up with their product drivers, even their older card.

A lot of updates = shows driver is not yet mature/the company is working hard for mew.

No updates = shows driver is mature / the company doesn't give a mew's ass.

I've really never understood the fascination with having to have new drivers for things like video cards that are already working perfectly fine.

Maybe a patch for a particular game issue.......but this "I gotta have a new driver for my 7900GTX every month!" just seems like nonsense.

Like was said before, if it's working, why worry about it?

Since when do Pokemon care about Nvidia drivers 😉

They have it's just that their hasn't been an "official" update in ages.

Let mew think of all the XP drivers you could've installed:
93.71 (the one your talking about)
97.44
93.81
97.92
94.20
100.95
101.02

Seems to mew a lot of XP driver have been released.
Some are WHQL some are not, some are beta and some are not, some require a modified inf and some do not. But whether it's beta/whql does not define a good driver.

I've heard that for non-8800 folks the 94.20 was one of the best drivers EVER released.
I've also heard/seen that the 100.95 (which I am currently using a-la XTreme-G) is a really good XP driver for 8800 users.

To mew, for a long time, the 97.92 driver was also an extremely good XP driver.
You just have to know were to look and a good place is Tweaksrus (home to the XG driver) and their forums:

Ya know, mew from Pokemon.
It seems that everyone else was making a joke of "Is it mew..." so I played along.

I missed when you said it in your post, I saw Kromis' first... and even though I got the reference, it was still deserving of a 'wtf?' But that's probably just mew... 😉

it's not just mew

they appear to be *broken* for STALKER ... certainly not up-to-date as ATi's are 😛

and nvidia promises a driver *soon*

UPDATE 3/28/07: We received the following from NVIDIA: "The trouble is not HDR+AA but rather the game's deferred shading engine which is fundamentally incompatible with hardware MSAA. Essentially it's the same issue as Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter's engine. This is why the developer implemented a shader based AA (the slider in the game) but as you noticed, its effect is quite subtle. We have a new driver coming which gives some perf improvements and SLI for G80. Will keep you posted!"

about time they got off their lazy asses
:clock:

nice new HW but can't write new drivers worth a crap

I wonder if the new 100.95 or 101.02 fix any of these issues. Too bad I'm not a lucky mofo who happens to have 8800 SLI setup 😛

Well, i asked about new driver because my 7800gt show some graphic problem when running c&c3 as it shwo soem kind of thick line coming out of the object in the game.
