If you wanna run MacOS, it might be. I hate to say it, I've used MacOS and WindowsXP (and recently Vista.. which I will without a doubt run once it reaches RC1) and I prefer Windows XP - it may be my experience, but the OS never gets in the way of what I want to do. Whereas if I use MacOS, I find myself searching or feeling limited by the OS or the access to behind the scene setup features.

I very much enjoy my XP notebook. It's fast, easy to use and runs great on 512 megs of memory. If I had MacOs.. I'd probably need a gig just to run office apps and browsers comfortably. Given that, I'd probably rather an older IBM-based G4 to get a little better memory efficiency.
