Is it me or Youtube and other video streaming sites are beginning to suck

I constantly get buffering on Youtube, Hulu, etc. Netflix is fine though for right now.

I've been using Boxee (HTPC) & even my regular desktop youtube is unwatchable. The PS3 & desktop I use for netflix works fine.

I am beginning to hate youtube because of the Quality of Service. I am not talking about HD or 720p youtube, even the 360 and 480 are super slow loading. I have a 10mb down connection, I've checked it on a regular basis and it seems to hold true. Once in a while I am at 3mb connection but that is rare. The PS3 and Boxee are on Wifi-G, the desktop is on a wired connection

I am in Los Angeles (SFV) with Earthlink (timewarner backhaul).

Youtube has been terrible for a while now. One video will play fine while another will buffer buffer buffer.

Hulu is usually okay and Netflix is always good for me.

Same gripe with youtube on comcast 15mb cable, it seems to be worse if it's an embedded video on a site other than youtube. Netflix hasn't been perfect either, there have been a few days we've been unable to use Netflix on our blue ray player but it has been working okay on the PC so it may be an issue with the blue ray player.

I agree. The Vevo content usually plays awesome and then I go for another video and it's painful.

I am willing to bet the premium content subscribers demanded some kind of throttling/QoS on non-premium / personal uploaders and it's not dialed in properly.

I've noticed something weird with youtube lately. It will buffer very slowly at the default resolution, but then when I go to a higher resolution it works fine.
