Is it me (or my drivers) or do the graphics (and everything else) in BF2 Special Forces suck?

They look worse than reg. BF2 to me, bland textures and crappy looking infrastructure... I posted this in SW too but this gets a different crowd...

Any thoughts?

Seriously, unless somehow despite being set to high they are still stuck at low, this game is an absolute piece of ******. The graphics are horrible, utter laziness by the developers, you cant tell by the way it looks that it was either rushed and/or not worked hard on... the night maps look awful, like a game from 2003...

For 29 bucks, it was a flat ripoff, utter disappointment. (PS, I am a big fan of the original and think it has quite good graphics)

Post some screenshots of what you feel looks bad so we can compare how yours looks to the way it looks on other systems. That's the best way to determine whether the problem is with the game, simply perception, or a problem with your PC.

The previews I had seen looked about the same...or worse. I think the grapihcs in BF2 are OK, but nothing special...those in HL2 and Far Cry look MUCH better....but those games tend to favor close in stuff...

The foliage in BF2 really could stand to be improved (namely the grass.)

Yeah I'm still amazed at the beautiful colors in BF:V compared to BF2 which has a bland, drab look to it. Love playing it though.

Man, that sucks...I enjoy BF2 (I HATE it when people become vehicle hogs....they won't even let you sit gunner in their chopper....wtf...)

For the people who do dumb stuff (both on counterstrike source and BF2, I wish i had the ability to revoke their CD key and all accounts they have for the game....

But as for BF2, I was really disappointed with the graphics, esp since it take so much RAM and processing power....for what? Ineffcient coding is what!

for fully rendering a map at high detail with very little LOD falloff?

Outdoor scenes, especially in multiplayer FPSs where draw distance is critical, are the most taxing situation in PC gaming today. The only thing that even comes close is large scale raids in MMOGs.

Edit: and i agree, BF2 was horribly dissapointing in the quality department, just saying that partially explains the performance of the game).

Well what did you expect? DICE Canada made it, you know the same team that made the crappy BF:V.
