Is it me or is DDR RAM prices rising?

Yep. Just 3 weeks ago I bought a Mushkin 512 stick of PC3200 for $25 ...

Now I'm lucky to find that same stick for $40

I find that name brands stay at a stable rate ... but it does fluxuate daily.

Yes... it's going up... I bought 2GB of OCZ Platinum two weeks ago... it's up $30 from what it was when I bought it. In june you could buy a GB in the high $70's and now the cheapest is really the low $90's

$2.81 here in San Jose, CA

I dont understand why San Jose is more expensive than places like Cupertino and Saratoga when clearly the latter 2 places are more expensive in terms of real estate....

$2.79 on the border of Cupertino and Sunnyvale.

Saw $2.93 in Mountain View yesterday.

As for DDR prices, they are going up and will continue to go up. I saw OCZ VX prices rise by at least $10 in a month.

Now as DDR2 is already hitting production parity with DDR1, you will see DDR get phased out and the prices will go up for DDR1 as DDR2 continues to fall.

Must be Intel manipulating DRAM manufacturers so no one buys AMD + DDR1.

Its more expensive than DDR2 from what I see. Monarch has Corsair DDR2 533mhz @ 83 per 1GB kit, I see $93 for Corsair DRR.
