Is it me or have the SB Live cards become problematic because of drivers?

Creative has not written new drivers for their SB LIve cards in over 2 years. The cards are having problems with VIA chipsets but I blame Creative for this because they look like they just stop writing drivers. They got to 3.0 and quit. The cards have problems and issues with certain games, chipsets which I just metioned, and the cpu usage seems to be increasing. I think I'll be trying out some of the other cards like Philips and Santa Cruz. I personally have not had many problems but the problems I read about seem to grow everyday. This is what happens when there is no competition. And despite their success A3D still sounds better. I am just disappointed with their lack of trying to make sure their cards are working in top notch form. When they trying to conquer the market they worked to make sure their cards were remaining compatible. Now that they have cornered the market they seem to have taken a damn near permament vacation.

I just put a post on last night because the drivers won't install a .dll od a .vxd so it still won't work. Whish I would have known the crap I would face buying a Sound Blaster Live X-Gamer. Oh well... they'll learn soon enough I suppose... End-up like Macintrash.. LOL..

Didn't Creative release OS specific Live drivers a few months ago? I recently downloaded the Live 3.0 for Win Me... is there no difference between those and the origional 3.0 drivers?

I never have had troubles with Live Value and win2K. Everything works great.

I just installed my new TB Santa Cruz about 2 weeks ago and my computer freezes up sometimes during boot. I'm not totally sure if they're related, but I do think it's an odd coincidence. Then again, I mess with my HD too much.
