I mean, not only do i use listerine, but i also brush my tongue and the roof of my mouth in the morning to kill/scrape off the bacteria that causes bad breath... but i think my bad breath comes back around 2 or 3 in the afternoon (i can't smell it, but i can sort of taste it). wtf? Is there a better solution?

It doesn't. Drying your mouth out only promotes more bacteria growth since your saliva has antibacterial agents in it.

A good percent of listerine is alcohol (~16% IIRC?) The stuff may make your mouth smell worse after you use it. If you're using a toothbrush to brush your tongue, maybe try getting a dedicated tongue scraper. I find that mine works well :)

Good idea... i'm still astonished at the fact that listerine makes your breath smell worse :| How are these jerks still in business? :(

I eat about 6 small meals a day and I don't have bad breath..well at least my gf thinks I don't. Brushing and rinsing only smells good while you're doing it. After that it's all downhill. Just eat a little bit all day.

Tognue scraper/brush. They're the same price as a cheap toothbrush and work great.

I've never had a cavity... and i know for a fact that it's my mouth that's causing the problem. When it tastes bad, i know it smells bad (i've asked people). When there's no taste, it doesn't smell...

a grazer

Rinse with a 50/50 mix of Listerine and H2O2. Peroxide oxygenates your mouth AND it kills bacteria at the same time.

I've been rinsing this way for nearly 2 years.

Isn't peroxide the stuff you use to treat cuts and scrapes to your skin? :Q

It's also an oral debriding agent. Works great and foams up quite a bit; it really makes your mouth feel clean.

Bad breath comes from your stumic rather then your mouth more often then not. Try "Breath Assure." they work quite well for me.
