Is it me, or do conservatives selectively support private property rights?

Here's a video of a covidiot bitching out a Costco employee because the employee says he can't shop without a mask. I love how he drops the 'i woke up in a free country' as his reason as to why he won't put on a mask

Here's a followup from the same covidiot explaining to everyone how we're all 'sheep' and blaming liberals for trying to control him

Conservatives also bitch about how social media sites are taking down their videos because they're spreading misinformation about Covid-19 screaming about "MUH FREE SPEECH!" (as if a private company should allow anyone to say anything they want on their site)

But if people say a business shouldn't discriminate against gay people, hoooooooooo boy, "RESPECT THEIR PROPERTY RIGHTS!"

Cosnervatives don't actually have any ideology other than selfishness and hate.

I don't know if I'd generalize all the way out to Conservatives as a whole, and there are plenty of "progressive" hypocrites, but I think we can all agree that this guy is a moron.

My favorite example today comes from Michigan. This guy owns a hydroelectric company and also owns the dam powering said electric company. But he wants the downstream residents to pay for necessary repairs and improvements to said dam, because “they’re the ones benefiting from the beautiful lake and rec areas my dam created!” In other words, “nice house you got there, it’d be a shame if it were to get flooded, capiche?”

Surprise, the dam failed and all the Michigan conservatives are blaming Gov. Whitmer for not fixing it sooner. Sure, Feds said the dam was unsafe, but both feds and state authorities somehow lacked the ability to enforce a private owner to fix it?

I believe being on the conservative end of the personality spectrum means your highest order value is heiarchy. So in that sense the principles that support that value are extolled, but if they stop supporting that value then you oppose them. In that sense an authoritarian leader who contravenes those principles would generally be followed above those principals, because the leader is at the top of the hierarchy.

Right wing authoritarians are itching for a fascist to tell them what to do. That's literally what they do. Luckily, Strongman Trump is an utter buffoon.

I will generalize and say Trump is fomenting this kind of behavior. So I'll say all Trumptards

I don't recall Obama EVER encouraging irresponsible behavior. Correct me if I'm wrong.

When you want a government weak enough to drown in a bathtub, the one drowning might be you.

Idiots are in all political stripes. That guy is dumb. If it makes you feel better to make fun of him for being stupid here then go ahead and poke fun I guess.

I forgot the best part—this dam owner doesn’t live downstream. He doesn’t live upstream. He doesn’t even live in Michigan. He lives in LAS VEGAS!!

Modern day "conservatives" selectively support all of their positions; government spending, family values, etc. Etc.

Conservatives feel the same way about liberals. The feeling is mutual. At least we can find some common ground. *wink*
