Is it me or did Firefox go downhill since 1.0?

Firefox 2.0 has so many memory leaks(I think that's what they call'em), it's not even funny. When I open some pages and close them, Firefox uses about 80-100MB memory. Anyone else experience more crashes and resource hogging?

Just started using 2.0 today.

So far I like it. Stable w/ some nice new features.
Haven't noticed any leaks yet, but I do notice more memory usage. But w/ 2gb of RAM this is hardly an issue.

My only bitch is waiting on some extensions for 2.0.

I haven't tried 2.0 yet, maybe I will try it out before reformatting/reimaging. If the memory usage is that high I doubt I will continue using it.

I have three windows open with a total of about 19 tabs and firefox (version 2.0) is only using 68mb of ram. How many pages are you trying to open at once when it shows 100mb memory usage? Meanwhile internet explorer (version 6) is using 38mb with only ONE window open (and no tabs obviously).

Most of my machines have at least 512MB of ram, 80-100MB isn't a big deal. Hell, I'm using 130MB or so on this machine (according to task manager), and the machine isn't even sweating. *yawn*

Did you disable/remove all add-ons and extensions?

Schadenfroh: The reason I'm I posted this, is because recently, FF2.0 also crashed more than before and it hangs. When I close it, open firefox again after 15 minutes, there are two processes etc. I'm using a Thinkpad t42p with 1GB RAM and FF just doesn't "feel" as fast anymore.

I agree, I like to have 15-20 tabs open at a time, and often leaving it running for days at a time. Came in this morning and FF was using over 750mb of ram...give me a break.

I have Flashblock installed (or whatever it is called) also.
