Is it manly to like/want a minivan?

Well? I'm a 17 yr old guy, but I kinda like minivans and have even considered getting one. It's a great utilitarian car, and some of them (like the late 80s early-mid 90s Caravans) are stinkin' solid as rocks. So is it ok for me to like/want a minivan, or am I gay?

I don't mind some vans... the 99-2000 Caravan sports with the 17" sport rims looked pretty sweet, and are very practical too..

If you get a Chevy Astro, you're not gay. The Chevy Astro's have actual truck frames. Ford Aerostars and Dodge Caravans have unibody construction. Get an AWD Chevy Astro or the similar GMC Safari, and you will have the best of both worlds: a family style minivan built on a truck chasis.

Naw...one of my friends does lighting for concerts and a little djing on the side, and he got a Chrysler one with sliding doors on both sides, both (as well as the rear gate) open with the keyless entry. It's awesome for hauling stuff, but it was pretty damn expensive!

Nah you should be fine.... ever check out the new Honda Odesseys? Great engine, handles like a car, feels smaller that its size, luxurious, can hold half of wal Mart in the back, entertainment system, DVD nav, 5 Speed auto, and a great price.

Minivan: Man Inside Not Intact, Vasectomized and Neutered. :D

Heh, j/k. There's nothing wrong with a guy wanting a minivan, the only down side is you have endure the taunts from people less secure about their manhood.

"Ford Aerostars and Dodge Caravans have unibody construction."

Ahem. Nitpick: You confuse the late Ford Aerostar, which did have a seperate frame, with the Ford Windstar, which doesn't. :)

Nah, not at all, although I would probably go for a station wagon first :)

Better handling, better milage, take up less of a foot print, and have a little less of a "Soccer Mom" stigma.

what do you think SUVs are? do you think that anyone actually uses them for off-road purposes?

I know. SUVs are just manly/yuppie minivans when it comes down to it. But a '94 Ford Explorer would cost more then a '94 Dodge Caravan, and insurance would be higher too, thus my question abou minivans

NO, if you get/want a minivan you're a girlie man and your wife is the boss of the family (/me makes whipping sound)

there are exceptions -
1) it's one of those full sized club vans (more like a bus)
2) you paint it psychedelic colors and go around solving mysteries with a talking great dane
or
3) you're a part of the A-Team

If you put some nice rims on it....you'll be fine.

If you don't get the rims, might as well wear pink shirts and change your name. "nancy boy"

so... guys who drive suv's are really just still in the closet and secretly want a minivan?

that actually makes a lot of sense.

How secure could you be if your asking us?

If you were really secure in your man-hood you'd drive that mini-van wearing a pink bra and garter belt.
(triple-dog-dare)

Bet your not THAT secure!

I don't particularly like mini-vans, but they do serve their purpose well (hauling people around).

My cousin wanted to buy a new Town and Country because it was wired with ethernet or something ridiculous like that! :D
