That's quite possible. If you want the DSL to work the best it can at your location, you need to run twisted pair directly from the telephone company junction box to the DSL modem location. Any sub-standard wiring or untwisted pairs will reduce the speed of the DSL connection to some degree.

Excellent solution. :) When I install DSL for clients, I put one filter at the TelCo service entrance and run their phone line through that to the additional phones. I run a home-run to the DSL modem if I can't locate it at the service entrance.

Thank you. I'm sure DSL Microfilter Companies aren't too thrilled though ;) .

I get people E-mailing me all the time thanking me for the solution. For many it meant the difference in not only a speed increase but line stability as well. Including my neighbor next door.

She installed the 5 filters that came with her kit from the Phone Co and her connection would die at least 3 times a day where she had to re-boot the DSL Modem. She asked me if I had the same problem and told her it never dies. I then went over and did my NO Wire Home Run and her connection stays rock solid now eliminating those other 4 filters and having the DSL Modem the first device on the line. I know that is the key besides getting rid of all those filters.

It works especially well for Apartments where you are typically not allowed to mess with the Utility boxen.
