Is it legal to use free website templates to design a client's website?

I know this is probably a really basic and stupid question, but I don't ordinarily build sites for customers. The barber I go to is being charged $150 for a really horrible looking site design, I'm positive I could grab a template from somewhere and make him something better in about an hour. However if that violates some kind of typical TOA on these free template sites I won't bother.

You'd have to look at the individual TOSs. I imagine they're all different.

Yes, it's perfectly legal provided you don't remove the link back to the author's site. Just be sure to read the licensing info.
